Wells Fargo Championship Unveils New Look, Reaffirms Charlotte Will Host PGA Tour Event Through at Least 2014

New Logo Reflects Reputation, Tradition of Tournament

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—The Wells Fargo Championship today unveiled a new look for Charlotte's annual PGA TOUR event, typically held the first week of May at the Quail Hollow Club in south Charlotte.

The tournament's new logo, a navy blue and copper stylized "Q," now prominently features the feather of the Bobwhite Quail, a popular game bird in the Southeast region.

"We challenged ourselves to create a mark that's reflective of both the unparalleled spectator experience as well as the challenging, classic course design the TOUR's top players have come to love," said General Tournament Chairman Mac Everett.

Executive Director Kym Hougham adds that Wells Fargo Championship organizers worked with Luquire George Andrews, the Charlotte-based advertising and public relations firm, to create a truly unique insignia.

"We're pleased to have created a look that certainly reflects a renewed energy toward the Championship as we begin our final stretch in preparing for this year's edition and look forward to the future," Hougham said. "I am certain our ambassadors, patrons and partners will embrace the new look and at the same time keep hold of our history and tradition."

The Wells Fargo Championship will take place April 27 through May 3, and organizers anticipate this year's field will be one of the strongest on the PGA TOUR.

Moreover, tournament organizers anticipate the world's top golfers will continue to make the Wells Fargo Championship a must-play event through 2014 and beyond.

"The tournament's name and look have changed, but the patron and player experiences will remain the same," said Quail Hollow Club President Johnny Harris. "We look forward to welcoming patrons to one of the PGA TOUR's most anticipated and respected events for many years to come."
