Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan Team Up In Wells Fargo Championship's Wednesday Pro-Am

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHARLOTTE N.C., April 30, 2007- Two of the most recognized athletes in the world will share 18 holes of golf Wednesday at the Wells Fargo Championship Pro-Am. It will be the first time Tiger Woods, golf's No. 1 player and basketball legend Michael Jordan have played in an official competition together.

"Wachovia and the Wells Fargo Championship wanted to bring these two great athletes together to give the patrons at the Wells Fargo Championship an opportunity to see something special," said Dan Fleishman, director of sponsorships and alliances for Wachovia. "Certainly Michael and Tiger are good friends and have played a lot of personal golf together. But we are grateful they agreed to compete in the pro-am together this year."

The Wells Fargo Championship's Wednesday Pro-Am has a unique format on the PGA TOUR of two amateurs per TOUR professional, unlike the traditional four amateurs at other PGA TOUR stops.

The threesome will tee off at 7:30 a.m. off the first tee Wednesday morning.

"We are pleased to have this opportunity to enhance the patrons experience on Wednesday and this special threesome will only be the beginning of an extraordinary Pro-Am," said Executive Director of the Wells Fargo Championship, Kym Hougham. "These two gentlemen are two of the most well-known athletes in the world and to have them both here for one day playing in the same group is a special treat."
