Wells Fargo Championship Single Day Tickets Go on Sale Monday

Organizers expecting another sell-out in 2004; ticket supply is limited

CHARLOTTE N.C., March 12, 2004 – Single day tickets go on sale Monday, March 15 for the Wells Fargo Championship, the PGA TOUR event that returns to Charlotte May 3-9, 2004, at Quail Hollow Club. The general public may purchase tickets by going online, www.wachoviachampionship.com or by calling (800) 945-0777.

Only a limited number of single day tickets are available; since daily tickets went on sale earlier as part of a special holiday promotion, daily tickets are even shorter supply this year, so golf fans are urged to purchase tickets soon. Please note that tickets will not be available for purchase at the tournament site or during the tournament.

Single day tickets range in price from $10 to $40 per day. Fans purchasing tickets for Tuesday or Wednesday’s practice rounds will receive a bonus ticket for Monday’s pro-am tournament, where fans will see players in a more relaxed and intimate setting. Tickets for the first two rounds on Thursday and Friday are $30 each and tickets for the final two rounds on Saturday and Sunday are $40 each.

To accommodate families, children age 12 and under are free with a paid adult admission (one child per paying adult).

Weekly ticket books are also available and cost $120 each. The books include admission to all seven days of the tournament. With ticket books, the same person does not have to use the ticket each day, allowing family members, friends and business associates to share the cost of the event. Weekly ticket books may be purchased by calling (800) 945-0777 or by visiting www.wachoviachampionship.com.

“We have already received an overwhelming response from the sale of our weekly ticket books,” Wells Fargo Championship Tournament Director Kym Hougham said. “Based on the inquiries we’ve received so far, we’re anticipating that these daily tickets will sell out weeks before the tournament.”

Proceeds from the 2004 Wells Fargo Championship will benefit Teach For America, a national education foundation that provides a corps of outstanding recent college graduates of all academic majors who commit to teach for two years in underserved urban and rural public schools.
