April 24, 20102010 Tournament Sold Out
For Immediate Release
Charlotte, NC—April 24, 2010--Tournament Officials announced this evening that the 2010 tournament is sold out.
“When we first started the tournament, we decided to keep daily attendance around 35,000 people per day and we reached that point this afternoon,” said Kym Hougham, Executive Director of the Wells Fargo Championship. “It has always been our goal to create a memorable golf experience for all of those who purchase our tickets. We have found that 35,000 people a day is a manageable number.”
The Wells Fargo Championship has sold out seven out of the eight years it has been a part of the PGA TOUR schedule.
Dates for the 2011 Wells Fargo Championship are May 2-8. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale to the public in mid-November.
Due to the timing of the sell out being so close to the start of tournament week, the Mulligan program was not implemented for 2010. The program is evaluated each year by the Board of Directors and is only considered under a sell-out status.
