TFA Teacher Spotlight

Since Teach For America started in 1990, more than 24,000 dedicated college graduates have committed to teaching for two years in low-income urban and rural communities across the United States.

Their classroom experience as Teach For America teachers—called corps members—inspires them to continue seeking ways to effect the fundamental changes necessary to ensure that all children have the opportunity to attain an excellent education.

Recycling Efforts

Since 2007, the Wells Fargo Championship has made an effort to recycle certain materials during Charlotte’s PGA TOUR event.

Thanks to the efforts of the fans attending, volunteers who gathered the material, SynCot and ReCommunity-Mecklenburg County’s processing center, who has partnered with the tournament to help process the recyclable items, a total of 197 tons of aluminum, plastic, bunting, paper, and cardboard has been recycled by the tournament.
